Hi, I am Rob! I work on the implementation and optimization of synthetic fluorometabolism in Pseudomonas putida and Escherichia coli.
Role
Besides the occasional preparation of competent cells, my main role is to (hopefully soon) supply the whole team with functional, ‘Swiss knife’ enzymes for specific activation of fluorometabolites (most SEMsters are eagerly waiting for them!). Also, since I am sitting in another office, another ‘role’ is not to miss lunch with the group (at least it’s a rather laborious task — made relatively easy by Slack).
