Alberto de María Ph.D. Student

I’m a Ph.D. student in love with biochemistry and metabolic engineering, especially interested in synthetic metabolism for C1 assimilation and production of fluorinated metabolites.

About Me

I have completed my B.Sc. in Biotechnology at the University of Bologna, my hometown. Afterwards, I moved to the Netherlands to study at Wageningen University in the M.Sc. of Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology. I started my research career at the Max Plank Institute for molecular plant physiology where I worked under the supervision of Dr. Arren Bar-Even. During that experience I found my vocation in metabolic engineering and learned many insights in this field. Currently, I am now doing my Ph.D. in the SEM group.
