I am Patricia, and I work as a post-doc in the SEM group
developing new strategies for the production of halogenated
building blocks designing cell factories based on Pseudomonas
putida.
Trivia
Patri is a cat lover and the proud owner of
Gato/Gordo/Bicho/Demonio (this is a single male cat with
multiple personalities) and Kitty (a quiet and peaceful
female partial to cat snacks).
She enjoys applying her drawing skills at work in
every opportunity she has. Patri skillfully drew the SEM
logo on an agar plate with a P. putida strain
expressing GFP, and orchestrated the group’s photo shoot
(a task that proved more difficult than originally
thought).
Patri is our very own flamenco bailaora. She started
dancing flamenco when she moved to Copenhagen, so she
would not feel so homesick, and has mastered different
palos (tango, alegría, bulería, and soleá).
She owns a secret Andalusian recipe to cook the best
croquetas in town.
She practices yoga regularly to wind down from the
laboratory−especially in those days that wild-type P.
putida is behaving wilder than usual.
Patri also loves biking, travelling, and enjoys
nature.
